We like to sleep at night. We also like to be mentally and emotionally
present for the people in our lives. At the end of the day, it's
difficult to manage either of those when haunted by the knowledge that
you've just gouged someone, or reduced them to little more than a
revenue stream. We don't need to tell you that we have operating expenses like anyone else, or that we have rent to pay, or crushing student debt, and mothers that we occasionally like to take to dinner. Those are facts of life, not excuses to be manipulative or unfair. You can trust that any price we quote you is firmly grounded in that logic. As a rule, we try to be transparent about the how's and why's of our pricing. Usually, we bill per midday walk, or per visit, or per 24hr period of overnight care. If you live in a building with other dog lovers, and would like to explore a group account, please let us know. Not only are we happy to take on new clients, we also have a soft spot for people actually talking to their neighbors, and we're delighted to be a part of that. Midday walks (30 minute visits, barring extreme weather) are billed at $16 for a single dog, with an additional $2 for a second dog in the same household. Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell. (E. Abbey) Overnight care is billed per 24-hour period, mostly to save you money. If you leave Friday afternoon, and get back Monday morning, you're not asking us for four days of labor. More like two days and some change. So, that's how we count it. Generally, that's billed at $50 for a single dog, $70 for a pair. This includes all visits (generally four or five per day), all feeding, meds, playtime, watering of plants, checking of mail, etc. An additional $10 per evening is billed if a walker needs to stay overnight in your home. Curious about the why's of our billing? Wander on over to our FAQ. |
