Brighter Days supports indigenous-led resistance of the Canyon Mine uranium mine and haul route. The proposed route would send up to 30 tons of raw radioactive ore per day via trucks with little shielding through Hopi and Navajo lands for processing at the White Mesa Mill, only three miles from the Ute Mountain Ute tribal community of White Mesa. Both the mine and mill are owned and operated by Energy Fuels Inc. which has announced they may start hauling uranium as early as June 2017.

Join the fight against the irresponsible mining, hauling, and processing of these radioactive materials which threatens indigenous communities, sacred sites, and water supply for millions more downstream. Brighter Days has donated to the campaign to raise public awareness of this project’s dangers in the communities that will be at risk, and we encourage you to do the same.
